This PDF compressor reduces file size using tested methods. When available, it uses Ghostscript for the best results. If Ghostscript isn’t available on the server, it performs a safe re-save that can still trim metadata and redundant data.
How it works
- Presets:
/screen(smallest),/ebook(balanced),/printer,/prepress, and/default. - Downsampling: Color/gray/mono images may be downsampled depending on the preset.
- Fonts & duplicates: Duplicate images are detected and fonts can be compressed.
Privacy
Files are processed on the server you uploaded to. Remove sensitive documents when you’re done.
Uploaded and output files are stored in the local uploads/ directory for your session.
Tips for best results
- Prefer ebook for a good balance of quality and size.
- If the output is too blurry, try printer or prepress.
- Starting from very small PDFs won’t save much—results depend on the original content.
